Our Services.

  • Technology Vision and Strategy

Digital architecture is an effective catalyst for organisation change. HUMx offers clients the advisory services of industry leaders with broad digital systems design experience and commercial insight. We help define your technology vision and document the strategies required to realise that vision through digital transformation.

HUMx engage extensively with stakeholders to understand business goals and ensure the digital technology vision supports the organisation’s strategic plan. We provide expert advice on digital system design and architecture road mapping, big data management, cloud strategy, digital systems integration, vendor selection, cyber security and change management. HUMx are committed to seeing clients realise their vision and can lead digital transformation projects from design through to delivery.

  • System Specification and Design

Ensure your building technology systems are designed to meet all stakeholder functional and technical requirements. Our design approach is iterative, creative and meticulous, with substantial client contribution welcomed where necessary.

HUMx leverage the most innovative technologies currently available to help our clients add value, functionality and interactivity to their business operations. We design systems in collaboration with building services owners, interior designers and architects to ensure the optimal integration of people, space and technology. By better aligning physical space and digital system design, we deliver flexible and sustainable environments that improve collaboration and well being. Where required, we facilitate extended reality modelling of system designs to help clients visualise the end product.

  • User Experience Design

User Experience Design is not synonymous with Graphical User Interface design. The Graphical User Interface is just one key output of the User Experience Design process.

HUMx work closely with clients to develop an intimate understanding of their environment, standards, processes and procedures. We guide the development of user stories, document workflows, and define the functional success criteria for each project. We use this understanding to collaboratively design customised Graphical User Interfaces following an iterative process incorporating interactive wire frame development with continual client review and feedback. This process ensures a simplified operational user experience is delivered via an intuitive, low touch approach to system monitoring and control.

  • Software Requirements Specifications

Don’t make the common mistake of designing and developing building technology systems in silos. Ensure your project vision, system capabilities and building efficiencies are fully realised by developing a specification detailing all software requirements, integration patterns and expected operational outcomes.

HUMx work collaboratively with clients and vendors to produce this specification in accordance with IEEE Standard 830-1998, Recommended Practice for Software Requirements Specifications. This specification ensures technology projects progress seamlessly from strategy to execution with clearly documented software functions, attributes, performance criteria, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, external interfaces and integration requirements for developers to work to.

  • Independent Data Layer Design

When designing a building technology stack, an Independent Data Layer (IDL) can facilitate communication between devices, data services, and software applications with any building system or third-party data source. The IDL serves to aggregate, sanitise and transform data to enable advanced monitoring, analytics, automation and optimisation of building technology systems.

HUMx helps clients to navigate the enormous differences in the complexity of information models that various building technology vendors employ, ensuring that building data is tagged and modelled appropriately. We design and specify the IDL to drive consistency in data modelling and promote interoperability, which mitigates investment risk by creating a vendor agnostic environment.

  • Digital Systems Integration Management

If a Contractor’s ability to fully execute your digital building technology design is uncertain, HUMx can mitigate the risk of failure by Project Managing the integration of digital systems.

Whilst the most commonly identified driver for the implementation of digital building technologies is sustainability, user experience within the environment is also key. Unfortunately, digital systems designed to elevate user experience are often value managed out of the project by Contractors who don’t recognise or appreciate the value proposition these systems represent. HUMx provides specialist integration Project Management services to ensure your digital systems are implemented in line with the project vision, on time and on budget, with robust quality assurance measures applied throughout the project delivery.
